There was something about the old kaoss pads and kaossilaters that kept me hooked, seeing what noises i could make it merge with next
In a nutshell its an XY pad, with 4 effects channels you can edit and do with as you please. Its a great unit because theres just so much gear in my studio i can attach it to and suddenly that effect or whatever is now Kaossilated, lol. I use it on my Solar 42 (amongst many other synths) and its just madness sticking a kaoss pass to what is effectively a cinematic drone synth. Add in my Roli Seaboard Rise 2 and sometimes i just have to stop and laugh in amazement and just how crazy a sound it is im making. I can't see this ever getting packed away, and pricewise - a perfect gift for other synth / music lovers. Attach it to your guitar setup and i can imagine some wild times.
Has sync in / out, Midi in / out, which is handy as i own a lot of semi modular gear, some with midi, dome without, so sync comes in handy.
The build is easy, no soldering, which tbh i would have liked as i love soldering stuff but i can see why they didnt go down that route. Kids can use this to learn about the ins and outs (literally) of a synth and adding soldering isnt maybe the best idea if they are too young. I suppose 2 versions, one for kids, and one for adults who want to do absolutely everything (with a decent tutorial that is! ) would be cool. Just make sure the tutorial is step by step and educational as well, i like to solder caps and chips and the odd smd parts here and there but i'm no electrical engineer, i'd need walked through the build ....as if i was a grown kid with a soldering iron...lmao....the irony!.
Look at the price. Just get it. You'll see. Anyone that says it isnt worth that price can go on "another site that sells second hand gear" and check the price of the originals.

Zusammenbau ist denkbar einfach.
Die Bedienung mit Quasi 8 Stelligem Nummerndisplay und einem Push-Endlos-Encoder ist gewöhnungsbedürftig geht aber nach kurzer Einarbeitung relativ flink von der Hand und ein Großteil der "Abkürzungen" bzw. Buchstabenkombinationen merkt man sich auch nach kurzer Zeit. Allerdings sind dadurch keine schnellen Anpassungen im Live-Betrieb zu realisieren, da muss man quasi vorher sein Preset gut durchdacht haben welche Parameter man über die Touch-Flächen erreichbar macht.
ein Midi-Eingang per Miniklinke wäre noch cool gewesen zum Tempo syncen...oh well, kann man auch ein-tappen oder auswählen.
Ich find es komisch, dass die Touch-Oberfläche zwar eine andere Struktur hat als der Rest allerdings sind die einzelnen Buttons und Felder nicht hervorgehoben durch Anhebung oder so...keine Ahnung, ob man da mit Plusterstift oder ähnlichem ran kann.
kleiner Tipp: wie ind er Anleitung am besten die beiden Kontaktstreifen isolieren bzw. abtapen
Sound: sehr gut

Assembly is extremely simple. The operation with a quasi 8-digit number display and a push endless encoder takes some getting used to, but after a short period of training it is relatively quick and most of the "abbreviations" or letter combinations are quickly memorized. However, this does not allow for quick adjustments in live operation, as you basically have to have thought through your preset beforehand and which parameters you want to access via the touch surfaces. A MIDI input via a mini jack would have been cool for syncing the tempo... oh well, you can also tap in or select. I find it strange that the touch surface has a different structure to the rest, but the individual buttons and fields are not highlighted by raising them or anything like that... no idea whether you can get to them with a stylus or something similar. A little tip: how do I best isolate or tape the two contact strips according to the instructions? Sound: very good Versatility: unmatched in this price segment Operation: takes some getting used to but is practical Recommended purchase both as a "permanently installed" pedal effect and as a live tool

Es facil de armar, pero no parece robusto, tiene pinta a que se rompe en cualquier momento.
Los efectos no estan mal pero mi problema es mas con la comtruccion del mismo, no

Volumen lo muevo todo el tiempo sin darme cuenta al tocar la pantalla de efx. Esta mal colocado y al estar a tope debería tener una traba para que no sea tan facil moverlo o algo asi.

It's easy to put together, but it doesn't seem sturdy, it looks like it could break at any moment. The effects aren't bad but my problem is more with the construction of it, I don't like where they've put the Volume, I move it all the time without realizing it when I touch the efx screen. It's poorly placed and when it's at full power it should have a lock so it's not so easy to move it or something like that.

Ich bin mir noch nicht ganz sicher was ich von dem guten KORG NTS-3 halten soll. Ich finde die Features und die Möglichkeit 4 Effekte zu morphen echt spannend, habe aber im Augenblick noch Schwierigkeiten mit dem Sound: die Kiste kommt mir zu unvermittelt in die Übersteuerung und kreischt dann halt nur. Zuerst dachte ich es wäre ein mechanisches Problem mit den 3,5 mm Steckern, die ich halt irgendwie an meine Patchbay mit grossen Klinken bringen muss, aber das ist es anscheinend nicht.
Ich habe als Live Arbeitspferd auch das gute alte Kaoss Pad 3 und das ist ja so solide dass Du damit jemanden erschlagen kannst - es hat aber vor allem auch LEDs die Dir zeigen ob der Eingangspegel passt. Mal sehen wie ich damit weiterkomme. Ich werden diesen ersten Eindruck noch updaten.

I'm not quite sure what to think of the good KORG NTS-3. I find the features and the possibility of morphing 4 effects really exciting, but I'm still having problems with the sound at the moment: the box goes into overload too suddenly for me and then just screeches. At first I thought it was a mechanical problem with the 3.5 mm plugs, which I have to somehow connect to my patchbay with large jacks, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I also have the good old Kaoss Pad 3 as my live workhorse and it's so solid that you can kill someone with it - but above all it has LEDs that show you whether the input level is right. We'll see how I get on with it. I'll update this first impression.
