it's a noise gate.

It is a noise gate, barely.

For the normal player that just wants to keep the excess noise down during play-breaks, this is a fine option.
HOWEVER...
This gate is anything but fast, or neutral in its sound.
the Attack is reasonable, but honestly I find it too slow. The same goes for the decay. Threshold is (again) also a bit wierd.
I realize I seem to just be pointing out the negative... So here are some pro's :
It's built quite well.
If you want a noise/hiss killer for non-playing moments, this will do just fine, but using it musically is a different matter...
ease of use... it only has two knobs, and they work.
when the gate is closed, it is truely noiseless.
I would advise this little gate for a home-player/practice room setup, so that the guitar noise doesn't irritate your bandmates to club you to death with the nearest mic-stand.
Other than that: if you want a gate you can use musically, this is not it. it's just too slow. Invest in a better gate if you want that :)

Good stuff
NoSa 02.03.2020
I bought the pedal to fight noise coming from Volume and Gain/Drive knobs on the distortion and overdrive pedals I am using, as well as to kill some of the hum going to the amp from the guitar single coils.
The pedal is doing its job well for the above stated, the noise from distortion is killed off promptly.
In some regards, it is working even too well, because no matter where I put it in the chain, it is killing the effect of the tremolo and delay pedals, so I am forced to use those effects without a noise gate - not the most terrible thing. Another thing that could be a little more nuanced/sensitive is the Decay knob, which could allow the sound to last longer without the accompanying noise in the background.

Solid build and great value for the price

Was looking for a noise gate to control some of the extra noise generated from gain pedals during breaks.
This is in the re-housed Behrenger series of TC Electronic, sub-50 Euro pedals. Like other in the same price category this is really solidly built with a metal housing, large controls and sturdy switch. Also like those other pedals this is an engage on release type, not a click switch.
Two controls, threshold to set at what input level the gate is activated and a delay control to control the fade-off when the gate is activated.
Works very well, just set the threshold to when the background noise starts to kick in, dial in the delay knob to taste and that's it. A nice feature is the LED lamp dims slightly when the input signal is being passed through and brightens when the gate is active. Excellent value for the price and robust construction.

Does exactly what it says on the tin

It's a noise gate, what more can i say really?
Very simple to dial in, the gate kicks in very quickly when you have the Decay to the tightest setting and the Threshold is super easy to find with the LED indicator.
It's built like a tank and costs next to nothing, the only slight drawback in my eyes is its pretty bulky, besides my Wah pedal its the biggest pedal on my board which seems kinda strange considering it is just a noise gate.
