Excellent value for money
audiouser 03.01.2020
Excellent value for money, with a strong sound stage and a good amount of bass - not completely flat so perfect for casual listening - music, movies, etc. They also work well in larger rooms as a portable audio system as they're not too heavy so you can carry them around on your shoulder in the Gator G-STUDIOMON1 bag also available here if you don't want to buy a full PA system.

They do have a noticable hiss which is fine in my use case but you will be able to hear it in a smaller room when nothing is playing. If that bothers you seek a different product. The hiss is constant at all volumes. Also worth noting don't try turning these up to 10 and play films through without normalization, if you hit something that peaks the audio output like an explosion the speakers briefly cut off and the driver restarts. 6-7 is the sweet spot for me, but will depend on your audio source.

Build quality is okay but don't expect anything premium, things aren't glued flush for example. These speakers are much more about the sound for the price than overall build quality.

Works well with the JBL LSR310S subwoofer if you want extended bass response (or added earthquakes) in your setup.

As a owner of the previous LSR305, I bought this second pair blindly.

Sound wise, they are as great as ever and maybe even better. Zero complain here.

There is still the same hiss. Quite annoying, can be reduced by lowering the volume to get the best compromise noise/signal.
An auto standby mode shuts the amp completely after some time so no more hiss when unused. That's better than nothing, but I would have preferred a reduced hiss.

However the real pain with the LSR305P is a new permanent coil whine.
It doesn't come from tweeter nor the woofer. It comes from the back, the power supply to my guess.
It's pretty high pitch and faint so I tried to just ignore it but after three days there is still a few moments of the day when I find this ringing way too annoying. Even at 2 meters away.
Unplugging every electronic device in the room did nothing. The only way to remove that ringing is to power off the speakers.

Excellent speakers! Great value for money!
Random_Mus1c_guy 11.06.2024
I use these speekers pretty much for everything; movies, music, gaming and producing music. I am happy in every aspect. The bass is clean and it doesn't mix or interfere with the rest of the frequencies. I have them plugged in a Scarlet 4i4 3rd gen sound card and even if I turn the volume knob all the way up from both the sound card and the speakers, I get a clean 95% if not 100% of the sound. For producing music, even though I don't have that much of experience, I experiment around with FL studio and I get a great outcome. I really like the touch with the logo on the front and the LED which let's you know whether they are on. Furthermore, when they power up again from standby mode, there is a small fade in of the sound, so you gradually reach the volume the knob is set to. It's an excellent choice and don't be discouraged by the plastic design.

Good in this price range

You aren't going to get absolutely neutral monitors in this price range. If you are getting these to mix or master on, you still have to learn how they are affecting the sound. They are very good for what they are: affordable but solid quality monitors. I especial like that the power supply on them can handle both American and European voltages. I had to leave my Yamaha monitors in the US when I moved to Germany, partly because they only take one type of voltage. These will most likely be coming with me if I ever move back to America.

Best Bang for buck studio monitors you can find
Ben Nathan 11.02.2022
Best sound I have ever experienced from a speaker - take them with the speaker stand package and you have an unbeatable deal. I got it shipped to Dubai/UAE with no issues at all - and it only took 3 weeks. (at the cheapest shipping option)

Audio quality is astounding - perfect mid and highs and the bass is unexpectedly good - I did invest in the LSR 310S so this will take it to the next level (waiting for stock availability). Be sure to order them all together and take advantage of the excellent shipment costs.

Good but with small issues
J. Q. 16.01.2023
The sound out of these is quite good at volume and there's plenty of features on them that are good use, they have worked great for years in my home studio for mixing, playback, listening etc etc.
But they have a noticeable constant hiss at low volumes. I tried several times to remove this to no avail. It isn't loud at all so if you're working at regular volumes you won't even notice it, nor would you hear it over loud music, but if you're working quietly with these and on particularly quiet music it will come through.
Doesn't increase with the volume on the speakers or on the interface, it's one constant low volume hiss. It may not bother you or cause any issues - I've worked with these for years now and have no intention of changing them - but I thought first it was a fault or my setup (it wasn't).
Anyway - otherwise these sound great and 99% of the time that won't be a problem.

I bought them for the music listening. I didnt find them enjoyable for that use. Sounded really dull, sound wouldnt "hit me".
They are probably good for mixing/producing and that sorta stuff.
They have very nice detail, separation, very nice low end. Just not my cup of tea. Sounds are perfored very close the speakars. Its like you got a PowerPoint presentaion but with sounds.

These should be an industry standard
_Nikon_ 09.07.2023
There are simply no contenders at this price for near field monitors. Big enough to have a nice low end, but not so big as to become a nuissance, or too heavy.

The only downside is that they are rear ported, which may not be useful, depending on how and where you want to set them up. If you're going to set them up against a wall, get the KRK Rokit RP5 G4, otherwise, I'd still take these.

Better than people think
Gary H 01.09.2020
I looked at a lot of budget monitors which eventually led me down the road of researching the JBL 30xP series. I found a really in depth analysis which the consensus was that they are the best bang for your buck;

I actually looked into the history of JBL and how the name actually came to be; James Bullough Lansing was a pioneering audio engineer who contributed greatly to loudspeaker manufacturing.

It turns out they're owned by Samsung which probably explains the affordability. Still, pretty cool stuff.

I initially bought the 306P but for the room I was placing them in, they are too much. Bass traps are much more apparent than the 305P and very audible from the other side of my house. Therefore I coupled my 306Ps with my Yamaha HS8s in and what a combo they are! When you go from listening to both of them together to each of the pairs individually, wow you realise how flat the Yamaha HS8s are. Also the JBLs aren't perfect but there's much less noticeable dip in clarity through the spectrum when I listen to each of them isolated.

Totally recommend

Nice entry level monitors!
Jack85 29.01.2020
Took these monitors as I was looking for moderately priced, decent quality speakers primarily for listening to music on my computer & guitar practice at low volume levels with occasional recording.

I was expecting a good quality sound on all volume levels (especially apartment building acceptable levels), and I am happy to say that the speakers did not disappoint.

You can find here in the reviews and also the forums that there is an audible noise when the speakers are on, and I can confirm that that is indeed the case. Truth be told, this is only audible when there is no music being played and unless you are hypersensitive to this stuff, you will probably barely notice it.

Pros:
+ Good sound quality on all volume levels
+ Good EQ to tweak the sound to your room
+ Auto stand-by (can be switched off)
+ Moderately priced

Cons:
- Audible hiss when speakers are on
- Auto stand-by can kick in even when music is playing (at low levels though)
