Great no BS amp

If you own a modeller, this is the amp to have. Try this before spending more money on expensive brand crap. It is supposed to be FRFR, so it does just that; no colouring, no anything, just the clean amplification of the modeller. The tone controls are highly efficient, be careful at gigs as they have a wide range, I keep them flat most of the time depending on the room. I had an issue with the shipping and the EU lead sent to the UK not working through and adapter. I found out it was the adapter so luckily I had an extra UK kettle lead laying around and no further issues so far. It is loud as hell, usually I keep it at 12:00 at gigs, controlling the volume mostly from the guitar, I'm old school; if you set the modeller correctly and have nice IRs (York Audio for example) the tone and feel are pretty much the same as a real amp, the Harley Benton just helps with the thumping. I can get Scott Henderson tone and gain in one setting from sparkly clean to screaming lead without changing presets just tweaking vol and tone pots. I could not believe before that you could do this with modellers. The modellers is the Ampero II Stage, also bought from this lot. My expensive heavy amps/cabs ( 30-45 kgs) now collect dust. This thing weights 15kgs. Now I'm exploring stereo, so either adding another one or get the 212, which is a lot heavier, we'll see.

Comodo FRFR per Line 6 Helix, tanto volume!

Volevo provare un FRFR da associare alla mia Line 6 Helix che fosse leggero e maneggevole. L'esigenza era di avere un volume sul palco che arrivasse dalla backline, dove normalmente ci sarebbe l'ampli.
Questo G112A è stato una bella sorpresa. Appena disimballato mi ha colpito il bell'aspetto: si presenta con un tolex nero e liscio, un contorno con linee gialle aged, e una maniglia molto comoda per il trasporto, che non fa male alle mani come quelle di altre casse.
L’ho collegato con un normale jack per chitarra dal 1/4 inch out della Line 6 Helix all'input dello speaker. Ho alzato il volume, e già a 3 tacche il volume era pazzesco. Nel pannello frontale c'è un led che indica il segnale in ingresso, utile per identificare eventuali clipping. Comodo il pulsante MUTE, per evitare di spegnere lo speaker prima di scollegare il jack. Veramente utili i controlli Presence e Resonance, che permettono di variare il suono rispetto all'ambiente in cui ci si trova, senza essere costretti a tweakare i soliti Bass/Mid/Treble. Resonance e Presence invece non agiscono sul segnale in ingresso dal Line IN XLR posto sul retro dello speaker. Quindi semplicemente consiglio di collegare il modeler sull’input jack frontale, come fareste con un ampli.
L'ho usato live due volte: la prima in un auditorium, e il volume era impressionante. A quattro tacche di volume ero in lotta con il batterista, dalla mano particolarmente pesante. La seconda volta, all'aperto, mi ha permesso di sentirmi perfettamente grazie anche alla possibilità di angolare il cabinet. Unito poi ai monitor da palco, ero circondato dal suono della mia chitarra. Spettacolare!
Questo è il mio primo FRFR, non escludo che provandone di altri più costosi sia possibile che io trovi delle differenze, però ragazzi, onestamente non ne sento la necessità. Per questo prezzo mi sono portato a casa un piccolo mostro di potenza e comodità! E per me è stata una rivelazione!
Online trovate recensioni che sostengono che questo speaker e la variante stereo 2x12 non sarebbero propriamente adatti ad un uso FRFR, avendo un range di risposta dai 100Hz ai 20kHz. Beh, onestamente non ho trovato problemi, e per me va benissimo. E vi sfido a percepire gli 80Hz della chitarra su un palco assieme ad un bassista e un batterista!! 😄
