A great mic for drums, flat sound, Beyer makes excellent equipment, a fair price.

Very midrange centric
Henrik Rathje 23.08.2021
Well.. its a beyer so its build pretty well. Its small, thats good, rejection is really good. And then the good part stops.
Compared it on a floor tom with SM57, MD-421 (vintage) and SE v7x.
It fell though like a brick. Its pure mid range, no real low end that is usable, unless you REALLY tweak the EQ. It sounds like a stick hitting a table. After all the good reviews I was very disappointed. Will stick with my current favorite SE v7x.. tons og lovely low end, and enough high end with a little EQ, and bleed is as good af the TG51.
I MIGHT have caught a dud, but I dont have time to try more than one. And that sounded like .. well.. bad!
Cant recommend it. No problem with the usual super return policy a thomann. Thanks. But the sound: not good. Might work on guitars though.

What a surprise
Sabu 24.04.2022
I only bought 2 of these babies for my floor toms. I’m definitely changing all my Tom mics to this TG I51. The best sounding miniature dynamic mic I’ve heard and also very focused to the sound source you’re trying to capture!!!
