Designed for the stage

The Audio-Technica ATM350U is a high-quality clip-on microphone designed for professional stage use, offering exceptional sound performance. Its fixed cardioid polar pattern provides excellent directionality, effectively reducing sound pickup from the sides and rear. This ensures clear, isolated capture of the instrument while minimising feedback. An 80Hz high-pass filter can be activated via the power module to help reduce low-frequency noise for a cleaner sound. Additionally, the capsule is fully encased in foam to ensure protection against wind noise and physical damage, making it a reliable choice for demanding live performances.

Very Good Microphone for Violin
NikolaTesla 15.11.2022
I have only used this mic for the violin, for some months now. Its brings really good sound out of the violin, it shines in the low-mid range, making the violin sound fatter, but it has also a clear high end. Therefore, it's very convenient to be used for playing solo violin in a band. I don't think it would work in a loud stage environment, even if it has an acceptable sound rejection capabilities. I used it with a stage wedge monitor, and the sound engineer did raise the monitor level to a good level without causing feedback issues. The low-cut filter switch is very good at rejecting noise coming from the violin moving, so it's essential if you want little involvement from the sound engineer.

I think the sound is slightly better than the DPA mic that I have used earlier. The DPA mic has a flatter response, so maybe it's better if you have a violin section. And this mic should be better for a solo violin.

SG
Great sounding gooseneck mic
Sid Goldsmith 14.10.2022
I think this is the most natural sounding acoustic gooseneck mic for fiddle/guitar/free reed instruments. It's the only thing I use live on many instruments. The only mark against it is that the clamp is a bit strange and other instrument specific clamps are very expensive.

Sehr gutes Mikrophon!
Georg8189 29.11.2018
