G
Nailed the classic Marshall tones!
Guitariste59 01.10.2019
I've been using a TS808 RI for years now & it has never disappointed...out of curiosity (and being a big Marshall fan), I decided to try this pedal out. This might possibly be THE best pedal that I've ever invested in. I really like the dip switches inside the pedal to further sculpt your tone. If you're chasing that classic Marshall JMP plexi tone from the 70s, look no further. Page, Young, Blackmore and Schenker -in a box! Love this pedal...the tube screamer has taken a back seat now. Kudos to Xotic for an amazing product & Thomann for its awesome service.

I'm Stocked with this pedal
JohnnyBGood 23.01.2020
Hi there

I found my sound with that overdrive. So I'm planning to buy another SL Drive and combine my rhythm with my lead sound.
You can configure this pedal in four kind of tones, I mean that It's awesome!

Many people says that pedal contain a plexi in It's core ..mm I've to say that I actually never I played a Marshall Plexitone, but you can get tones from Hendrix till Tony Iomi, about that I've to clarify that it also depends on the guitar and the amplifier that you uses and between the four switch configurations plus the setting of the pedal, volume, tone and drive.

Well I really think that pedal its a big deal. I hope my words help you decide on this purchase

Cheers

Very good sound

It's almost awkward, how can a pedal feel so organic and reactive to your touch, emulates very well a Marshall JMP!! The sound character is instantly recognisable. Internal Dipswitches let you tweek your tone even more. ITS NOW AN ALWAYS ON PEDAL! Will certainly try more from this brand, as I am very impressed.

Xotic SL Drive Review

I purchased this pedal as I wanted to emulate the sound of the early 70's with my guitar. This pedal achieved that purpose greatly. I used to use the distortion on my Roland amp but wanted a crisper sound so i went for this pedal. At gigs I have received compliments for my guitar tone so I am very satisfied with the pedals performance for me. There is a tone knob which affects the amount of crunch you have to your sound and a drive knob which affects the amount of body you have and how heavy you want your sound. I find that it works best when both knobs are set to the middle. There is also an EQ at the back when you screw off the plate which can be adjusted to add extra treble, bass etc depending on your preferences but I left mine to the factory settings. The only downside to the pedal is the slight buzz it creates, this can be controlled however by turning the volume on the pedal down and the volume on the amp up louder. Other than that the pedal is perfect and you get what you pay for with this one unlike some cheap pedals i have previously tried.
