I use it mostly to play along with songs through my iPhone, practice an exercise book and practrice songs that I play in a band and for future gigs.
It sounds OK, not great, but it's 10x better than playing without an amp at all. The hi-gain mode is great if you love playing metal or anything else in that style, but since that's not really what I'm playing I sadly can't use it very often, but that mode sounds really awesome. It has some cool effects built in, which are fun to play around with for a while but then it turned into a practice tool for me again because playing through a real amp is just way more fun and inspiring.
The controls are intuitive, it's easy to set up, like, you'll probably just find the one sound you like and it's gonna be like that for a long time. I like to play it in clean mode with no effects, gain at 6-7, tone at 5 and volume to match my environment.
It's so tiny it fits in my pocket, and even though it play swing around your instrument's plug while you're playing, I've never accidentally touched the buttons or knobs while playing so it's rigid enough that I don't worry about that.
Like the title says, fun little tool if you want to play silently and playing without an amp just isn't making you want to play at all.

One for your Bass Bag
Steve House 23.08.2024
If you travel a lot then this is ideal to have in your bass bag. It's small, but the sound in your headphones is fine. It's fiddly to use ... it is very small ... but it has everything you need to practise on the road. The through connection is good too if you want to play along to rhythms or tracks. It does have some built in as well as effects.
