A change for the better?

I've been playing rico orange box 2 1/2 reeds for a couple of years. This is my first box of vandoren reeds, they are a bit stiffer than the rico, and make the embouchure work harder. The sound seems a bit softer but more complex. High notes seem a little easier. Used one for a 2 hour rehearsal - none of my fellow band members noticed!
