Almost bullet proof!

I always take a long time before writing reviews because I want to "abuse" my products befor write anything.

This is THE real deal! If you want to protect you gear the only better thing you could do is put kevlar around it!

I bought this case together with my HD500 in 2010 and I ve been using it for gigs at least twice a week. It has falled from a 2m stage, traveled a lot on airplane (no as hand luggage), have been exposed to moist, used as a bench... it has not been shot yet, but I am pretty sure it would survive!

My HD500 was heavily used before being replaced for my HD500X and they were inside this case when all of the incidents happened. They are still fully functional!

PROS: it protects your gear in the best way you could expect! the foam inside is very good and the way it is mounted prevents any damage.
CONS: it is quite heavy!

A
Superb Case!
Anonymous 23.09.2016
Very pleased with this case indeed! Quality solid build and the Pod fits to perfection! Room at the back to store power supply and cables. Some other reviewers have complained about a strong smell in the interior, on opening the case I noticed a slight smell of obvious glue which then quickly dispersed.. nothing to complain of here! I love the Phenol brown finish... It adds a rich character and I definitely prefer It to plain old Black! Excellent service once again from Thomann... The best Music store/Online Music store experience without a doubt! Thank you.

G
This home for your POD HD!

So, it is a heavy solid box, convenient for transportation, well protected from all sides of the corners, which protects my POD for the past one year.
What I liked: free snap locks, cover easily finds its place in the grooves and tight. Inside a special porous material at the closing keeps POD, so it does not hang out during transport. Recess for the power supply. I'm in the closed position with the POD placed two guitar cables.
Several times I POD instead transported in a carrying case pedal. To this I added additional partitions of hard foam, so they did not hang out during transport. I fit 5 standard pedals and power supply. During the concert, partitions, of course, I cleaned.

Want a case that will protect your gear through anything? Get this. I've used a lot of cases to protect anything from pedals to amps, and usually buy Thon. SKB's and others are good too, they are a good bit lighter than the Thon, but nowhere near as solidly built. If I have a criticism, it would be the weight, but it's built like a tank. Hinges and hardware are very good, top lifts off cleanly, good padding and great protection. It's handled by everyone from roadies to family, and looks like it'll survive a nuclear holocaust. I don't have to worry about the contents with this case.
