I have had my piccolo for some months now and I feel it is time to write an review about it. This is my first piccolo and I was struggling to play it as I know all that have started on one has. Now I have the hang of it and I am playing beautiful music with it at religious settings and solo set ups. I have had other brass musicians ask about this pic I told them its Thomann and they would not believe me!! The clarity is great indoors and out doors. The pro is the price! Can't beat that along with its great quality. The con would be thinking cheap is bad. It is not in my opinion. It is great. The con is not really a con if you think about it. Over all I love it and it gets the job done for me. Thank you.

Piccolo Trumpet

Returned first instrument but replacement has clear tuning problem, verified by professional trumpet colleagues. So it's value for money is diminished by quality control.

Best $377 I've ever spent!

I recently bought this piccolo trumpet to replace my Schilke P5-4MA that my daughter took with her to college. I've been playing professionally for over 30+ years and my daughter has taken my Schilke X3, E3L, P5-4MA, Bach Stradivarius 229 25R C trumpet and Bach Stradivarius Flugelhorn to College. Luckily I have other pro Bb an C trumpets but she has taken almost all my small trumpets. This Thomann piccolo trumpet is an exceptional instrument for the price. It does seem a little tighter than the P5-4MA. Having the correct mouthpiece is the key to all piccolo trumpets not just this one. I have played piccolo trumpets professionally for 30+ years. I play a Warburton 5S with a Ken Titmus KTCM Reverse Taper GG backbore. The Warburton H backbore is a similar option to the KT backbore. With the proper mouthpiece the quality of sound and intonation throughout the instrument is exceptional. I haven't found any bad notes. I do plan to play this professionally and I'm sure nobody could tell if I were playing this piccolo or the P5-4. That's how good the sound is. If you buy this instrument make sure you are playing a lead style mouthpiece with a shallow cup and a tight backbore. I'm sure a Schilke 14A4A, 13A4A, or 11A4A would work great with this piccolo. It also appears to be a well built instrument. Use good valve oil. I hope this review helps anyone who reads it.
I've also just ordered the Thomann 600 Flugelhorn and I'll let you know what I think as soon as I get it. I wouldn't have ordered it if I wasn't happy with this piccolo. In the future I will probably buy one of the Thomann Eb trumpets as well. I'm very impressed with the quality.
