Bought to hold my 12u of Eurorack Modular for transport.
Anonymous 28.10.2016
I needed a case to carry and protect my 12u of Eurorack Modular when I travel from Ireland to the U.K. As I will be going by boat-train any of the larger 'cabinet' style 12u cases were unsuitable and this Thomann 12u Mixer Case is very competitively priced. The fact that it also pops-out is an added bonus as I can now demo my system in a number of stations/set-ups.

I realize I am using it for a purpose other than listed but the case is perfect for a portable Eurorack system. When empty, the case (obviously) feels a little hollow and although constructed very well it seems to lack a little sturdiness. Once it is 'braced' by 19" gear it will be perfect.

My current solution is 2 x 6u racks folded over in a camera/tool style case and as such I didn't appreciate just how large 12u really is! The case itself has some heft to it so I am glad I also got an Adam Hall Trolley - this system needs to be movable by mere mortals!

Perfect for portable Eurorack!
Pros - 12u, portable (but get yourself a trolley/dolly), seems like once full it will be very sturdy.
Cons - When empty the case itself is quite weighty, (and for my specific purpose) I did not appreciate how large 12u in a row really is!

Decently rugged and incredible value!
El_Visitor 01.12.2024
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the build. Bought the case only for moutning eurorack at home and potentially for very rare transportation but would feel very confident taking this on the road.
Has decent locking mechanism and rubberised seal where the case and lid join making it waterproof enough for carriage in the rain (wouldn't submerge obviously).
Interior frame and mechanism are sturdy too.
Price from thomann was exceptionally hood making this an absolute bargain!
