PLEK Service Standard - Fret Dressing with Stainless Steel Frets

Behind the brand name PLEK is a patented procedure that facilitates perfect dressing of the fretboard, fretwork, nut, bridge, as well as improving overall the adjustment of the string action.

In close consultation with you, our team optimises the string action and thus the playability of your instrument. Intonation problems that are the result of a disproportionately high string action are also eliminated.

The PLEK machine sensor technology misses the neck of the instrument and creates a specific profile.

Any unevenness in the fretboard and frets is corrected with a tolerance of 0.01 mm, resulting in no more buzz in the strings and an even die off.

After polishing the frets, individual alignment adjustments of the intonation and string action are then made in accordance with your personal requirements.

Worthwhile if you are buying the Harley Bentons with Stainless Steel frets
Curt R 13.08.2020
Added this to my order for the Harley Benton Fusion-T HH HT Roasted FNT as Harley Bentons normally have poor fretwork. Also, I didn't want to have to take the guitar to my local tech during lock down.

It's expensive for what it is, and a good local tech could do the work cheaper and as well.

There was a small ding on the neck which, luckily, isn't felt when playing. I had a partial refund from Thomann for that. Can't say for certain that this wasn't there before it was handed to the guitar tech, but I'm disappointed that it got through QC.

Not happy, but worked it out myself
Muffinman of Norway 29.11.2023
Ordered this service on a brand new Harley Benton III HH SSP. My requirements were low action with no fret buzz and trem set up floating. Upon receiving the guitar unfortunately I discovered that the neck pocket had the wrong angle, making upwards movement in combination with low action impossible. Instead of addressing the issue they just went ahead and performed the plek service before blindly shipping it out. Also the neck pickup was loose and rattled about, which i discovered as soon as picking the guitar out of the box. I had to shim the neck, adjust the bridge height, trem action and intonation myself to get the guitar to work as requested & paid for. I also fixed the loose neck pickup. However, once this was done the instrument became very nice. The fretwork is impeccable, but everything else here missed the mark by a lot.

ME
It takes a lot more than a forge to create a sword.

I recently gave Harley Benton guitars a shot. Due to the initial price point I thought it would be prudent to have my guitar pleked. Although I'm sure it would have been fine without it, the Plek service akin to a Samurai Katana Polisher has truly made it into a lethal weapon. Thanks again.

I bought an amarok and had it plek'd before if arrived so honestly, I can't tell you if it improved the instrument, all I know is the instrument I received has some of the best fretwork I've ever seen.
