A good budget gong mallet for anyone starting out with gong playing. They are nice to hold and easy to use. I have since upgraded to Chalklin mallets but only because I was looking for something slightly heavier. These are an excellent mallet to use.

Mailloche de qualité, permet de faire sonner le gong en douceur par petites frappes au centre et pourtour, efficace égalment pour les coups plus sonores. Bonne clarté du son malgré le côté feutré de la mailloche.
Quality mallet, allows you to ring the gong gently with small strikes in the center and around the edges, also effective for more sonorous blows. Good clarity of sound despite the muffled side of the mallet.

Der Meinung einiger hier, der Schlegel sei nicht für kleine Gongs unter 28" geeignet, kann ich mich nicht anschließen. Das mag daran liegen, dass ich in erster Linie am "Auf-die-Zwölf!"-Sound interessiert bin und eben genau einen Schlegel gesucht hab, der meinen 18" Gong ohne Probleme mit einem Schlag in den vollen Sound bringt - ABER es ist mit dem GM 2 trotzdem super easy möglich, auch nur ganz sanft und leise zu spielen, denn er ist wirklich herrlich weich. Ich hatte überhaupt keine Probleme, auch leiseste Schweller o.ä. zu spielen.
Vielleicht spielen andere Leute ihre Gongs auch eher wie Marimba o.ä., für schnelleres, komplex artikuliertes Spiel mit hörbarem Attack ist dieser Schlegel natürlich nix. Bei mir geht's darum, mit einem einzelnen Schlag ordentlich Energie in den Gong zu bringen, aber eben ohne "Pöng" Attack (wie gesagt, habe nur nen 18") - macht der GM 2 für mich perfekt.
Ich hatte zum Vergleich den GSH L mitbestellt, der ist aber weniger kraftvoll und hat ein deutlicheres Attack, hab ihn daher zurückgeschickt und den GM 2 behalten.
Dass die Schraube, mit der der Kopf auf den Schaft geschraubt ist, oben offen zugänglich ist und man sie also ggf. nachziehen oder den Kopf auf nen anderen Schaft schrauben kann, ist ein zusätzlicher Bonus. Top!

I cannot agree with the opinion of some here that the mallet is not suitable for small gongs under 28". That may be because I am primarily interested in the "On the twelve!" sound and exactly one I was looking for a mallet that would give my 18" gong its full sound in one hit without any problems - BUT with the GM 2 it is still super easy to play even very gently and quietly, because it is really wonderfully soft. I had no problems at all playing even the quietest swells or similar. Maybe other people play their gongs more like a marimba or something similar, but this mallet is of course not suitable for faster, complexly articulated playing with an audible attack. For me it's about bringing a lot of energy to the gong with a single hit, but without a "bang" attack (as I said, I only have an 18") - the GM 2 is perfect for me. I had the GSH L for comparison I also ordered it, but it is less powerful and has a clearer attack, so I sent it back and kept the GM 2. The screw with which the head is screwed onto the shaft is openly accessible at the top and you can tighten it if necessary Being able to screw the head onto another shaft is an added bonus.
