Corner traps for my small vocal recording booth
Anonymous 01.06.2016
Being a voice actress, narrator and singer I need a pretty sound proof and ?dead? space for my vocal recordings.
In the room that I am using as my home studio there is a small walk-in wardrobe which I wanted to turn into a recording booth.

The acoustic conditions in that tiny room (less than 2 m²) are of course horrible if you don?t treat it.
So I covered the wooden floor with a carpet and attached acoustic foam mats and tiles to the walls and sloped ceiling in order to reduce the flutter echo.
Furthermore I got a Hofa diffusor and placed it at the wall behind my condenser microphone.

Doing some more research I learnt that the corners of a small recording space should not be neglected as they often cause problems at the low end.

Since I did not really know what I, as a female voice artist, had to expect from bass traps I certainly did not want to spend an unnecessary amount of money. So I just bought one pair of these and placed them in the corners left and right from my microphone stand.

Sure the effect is rather subtle in my case but the thick foam definitely helps reducing the flutter echo bouncing back from the corners. Also in comparison to voice recordings I did without the traps I feel the sound is more balanced now.

If you too have a small space for voice recordings you should consider buying these.

Excellent bass trap
Damjan J. 21.12.2021
When playing bass in a small room the tone of it is hard too distinguished.
So I put 4 sets of traps into the corners, and for the first time in my rehearsals in my life I heard my instrument clearly and with fool tone, amaizing

Does it's job
NEJC 19.01.2021
I use this bass trap in my semi bedroom sized room where I work, and since installing these bass traps, there has been a noticable improvement in room acoustics, the bases became a bit tighter and defined. This is the first room that I am transforming into a home office for mixing and composing, so the work is still in progress but I am satisfied so far. I can't comment on the pros and cons as I don't have any other reference, but the result is there, it works, and that's good enough for me for now.

Amazed at its size
Pineal Dress 11.01.2021
I thought it was one quarter of the size it actually is. Remember to check the dimensions.

I bought these for my saxophone practice booth. They are just sitting on the floor in the corners. They are nice and stable and use up less space than the pile of cushions I had in there before! There are some slight variations in the material, but they look good and the sound in the booth is pretty good with these in. Good value.

Budget traps reduce the woof and boom.
Robert487 02.05.2018
Like most people who buy these traps i'm on a tight budget.
The foam is firm and not easily torn and is also cut very well.
After some experimentation they've effectively reduced some of the bottom end boom from my studio which is why i bought them.
They're tough, sturdy and do the job at a very strong price.
