Switchable monitor controller

The Swissonic M-Control+ is an affordable passive monitor controller that regulates the monitoring volume (including a mute function) and offers the option of mono summing. In contrast to Swissonic's more basic M-Control, an input switch for different sources as well as an output switch (e.g. for two pairs of speakers) have been integrated into the Plus version. Advanced functions such as talkback and internal bass management for connected subwoofers, however, been left out in order to make this model as "back to basics" as possible. The Swissonic M-Control+ does, however, provide a solid basis for those who appreciate the directness of tangible controls when adjusting their monitoring volume - and at a very budget-friendly price.

Classic position in the signal chain

The Swissonic M-Control + is encased in a robust metal housing and can be easily integrated into an existing monitoring system in the same manner as other monitoring controllers. It can be connected to an audio interface via its 6.3mm jack sockets and features both an RCA connection and a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack socket for its second input, which can be used to connect a smartphone, CD player, or similar playback devices. Additionally, the two switchable output channels feature XLR sockets (output A) and 6.3mm jack sockets (output B) and can be used to connect active studio monitors or other peripheral studio devices. Output B features an additional 3.5mm stereo mini-jack socket.

A solid choice for home studios

The Swissonic M-Control+ is designed for users involved in music and multimedia production who do not want to invest a three or four-figure sum in a monitor controller. At the same time, it offers consistently good performance from a technical point of view. A very good stereo balance is achieved over almost the entire range of the large volume control, and the output signal remains free of crosstalk or noise when the various buttons are pressed, even at high monitoring levels. All in all, the Swissonic M-Control+ with its largely neutral sound is thus a rock-solid choice for home studios.

About Swissonic

Launched in 1998, Swissonic is an in-house brand operated by Thomann. Swissonic's range of electronic and digital devices are built to precise specifications by well-known manufacturers and are thus available at very favourable prices via direct marketing without distributors. Swissonic mainly focuses on devices for use in conjunction with a computer. The product range therefore includes interfaces, webcams, monitoring speakers, MIDI keyboards, and routers but also sound converters and rack-mounted electronic equipment. Swissonic thus provides an extensive wide range of affordable equipment for computer and home studio-based sound processing.

A good choice even for small workspaces

With its compact and robustly built metal housing, complete with wood-effect sides, the Swissonic M-Control+ will look good on any desktop. Thanks to its non-slip rubber feet and relatively high weight of 420 grams, the monitor controller, which measures 16.2 x 9.8 x 5.4cm, will sit securely in place even when there is a slight tug on the connected cables. The Swissonic M-Control+ can of course also be used with all commonly available active studio monitors, and it is additionally possible to connect it to consumer-grade subwoofers and active loudspeakers.
