I was a little afraid to order this bass and maybe i should buy an Ibanez for a more modern sound??
I was looking for a PJ Bass with modern touch, I already own all classic other basses P, Jazz, MM. etc.. I was afraid of minor build quality and bad fretwork, so as some brands have with their asian departments.
But this bass was Ok! And the fretwork and neck is very nice and good! also the wood, blue colour and finish is awesome, especially for this price.
I was always curious for a spector, but way out my budget. Now this a good option! and the sound is there! Only thing is you have to set up the bass yourself like all the basic things a bassplayer should learn any way. So setting up is also a personal thing, but there where a few things on this one you have to adjust. The Neck was ok, no trussrod adjustment!. But intonation, string height, and pickup height you have to do yourself. the pickups where to high, so after i put them down the sound gets better and adjust the rest, everything plays like butter. This an active tonecontrol bass (no passive option) and very very responsive passive pickups. ik turn the tone down an add a little bass and there is the nice Spector sound i was looking for, a P bass with a little modern twist and turning the bridge pickup in there is nice extra growl. This bass is a great build intrument for the money and after some basic adjustments a true legend.....
