I bought two Quarter Pounds for my Jackson DK2. I wanted that 80s superstrat tone from the neck and middle to upgrade from the standard stock designed-Duncan’s
Roll down the volume on the neck for a clean tone these pickups give a very good solid fulsome tone. Roll up the volume for a little drive and you’re in Stevie Ray Vaughan-esq tone territory, a pleasant place to be. Nice woody voicing.
With a regular 5 way switch tones 3, 4 and 5 give a beautiful blend of options for most styles of guitar music. 5 is so full and woody…heaven.
These pickups are very versatile that will suit hard rock with plenty of grit to crisp clean tones of the Def Leppard Hysteria era.
I read and listened to many reviews of these pickups. Some frowned upon my choice online to marry 2 x Quarter Pounds and a DiMarzio Air Norton. But, different horses for different courses. I didn’t follow the herd and love a brutal bridge pickup complemented with two wholesome Quarter Pounds for sensitivity as well as some brutal edge should I need it.
Excellent inspirational pickups !

Great!

I use this pickup in the neck position on my Tokai ast-50 strat (dimarzio hs4 middle, Seymour Duncan YJM fury bridge). It has an very full and clear tone to it. No muddyness as you would maybe think with the quarter pounders. It is very loud so I had to adjust it a bit lower than the other pickups so they would match the other two pickups better. It suits many styles from nice clean soul jazz and blues to distorted mayhem. The neck position is the one I found I tend to use the most on this guitar. All because of this good sounding pickup.

De-fenderize your Strat! Fat punch with sparks at high gain.
nomasforfun 23.01.2020
Placed it on the neck and middle position in my Strat and that's not a Fender any more. It might sound a bit dark at first, but it has a clean low end punch and with gain it gets to a very different level as the sound cranks and sparkles with mid-range harmonics. A single coil that sonically has little to do with single coils.
Perhaps the only issue is that the pickup housing is slightly smaller for a standard single coil pick guard hole. I just had to use springs rather than the small rubber tubes to get these stabilized.

Great sound but a somewhat odd size. Had to adjust the pickguard. Therefore a fairly low rating.
