I use one of these under the pick guard of my archtop; the guitar sounds good and I didn't have to drill any holes in the top of the guitar! I can also turn it down so it doesn't feedback when I'm not using it. Not very god for whale noises, though...

I wired the thumb wheel on an archotop guitar (Eastman 805e).
It works and sounds nice. The included wiring sheet was very helpful. I gave it 4/5 stars just because 45¤ sound a bit too much for two potentiometers, even if they look cool and are very small.

Fiddly but in a class of their own

These pots are the only ones to get if you need discreet controls. However, please note that they don't come pre-soldered and they are very fiddly to solder. However, its been about a year since I've had them and they're still super reliable - no scratchyness etc
