Structured effects setup

The RockBoard QUAD 4.2 is characterised by a robust and torsion-resistant lightweight metal construction and features a generous surface area with an innovative slot grid for simplified cable routing, enabling users to create a clean and clearly structured effects setup for a neater arrangement and improved performance. Sufficient space is available underneath the board's surface for installing power supplies, and the inclusion of an insert in the front face renders the board compatible with RockBoard patchbay modules. In addition to the fixing materials (hook-and-loop tape) required for the effects pedals, the scope of delivery also includes cable ties and a high-quality gig bag.

RockBoard QUAD 4.2 B Pedalboard

Robust construction

Measuring 622 x 330mm, the RockBoard QUAD 4.2 is large enough to accommodate up to 15 effects pedals. The black powder-coated frame is produced from a single sheet of cold-rolled aluminium and reinforced with two additional U-shaped support braces, which offer maximum stability while minimising weight. The surface, which is slanted at an angle of 10 degrees, is completely flat, allowing unrestricted attachment of the effects pedals. The pedalboard is also fitted with eight non-slip rubber feet to prevent any unwanted movement during use.

Insert for patchbay modules

The RockBoard QUAD 4.2 provides users with convenient cable routing options and secure location options for effects pedals of various sizes and designs, with the slightly angled surface also giving the player unrestricted access to their pedals. The pedalboard also comes with a rear slot for the installation of a MOD patchbay. These modules route all of the necessary instrument and amplifier connections to the front of the board. Users will also appreciate the inclusion of a gig bag, which provides a secure and straightforward means of transporting the QUAD 4.2, complete with effects pedals, to the rehearsal room, studio, and performance venue.

About RockBoard

RockBoard is a brand belonging to Warwick Music Distribution GmbH, which is based in Markneukirchen in Germany's Vogtland region. RockBoard's range focuses on pedalboards, which are available in numerous different designs to suit any application and budget, and are complemented by an extensive range of pedalboard accessories, from slick patchbays for expanding the boards and high-quality patch cables for loss-free connection through to high-performance power adapters and the "QuickMount system" for rapid effect changes. In short, RockBoard offers virtually everything that players need to easily set up their own individual pedalboard.

Practical slot grid

The innovative slot grid has a variety of functions on the RockBoard QUAD 4.2, ranging from helping users to route all cable connections correctly and neatly under the board’s surface to providing the perfect fit for the RockBoard QuickMount system, which provides a practical and significantly more convenient means of attaching the effects pedals than the classic hook-and-loop tape alternative. This system, together with the associated mounting plates, allows the effects pedals to be inserted into the QUAD 4.2's slot grid in next to no time and removed just as easily again if required.

Generally very good with 2 drawbacks
Bluez_Freak 05.02.2021
This pedalboard is very good with innovative design compared to pedaltrains or palmer (which I also have).

However the biggest problem I faced was to install the MOD1 because there are 2 vertical beams underneath which make it impossible to screw the MOD without removing these beams. And if you remove these beams is very difficult to screw them back again to the board without proper tools (in my opinion the tools provided are a joke, as you need "real" tools and a LOT of patience to install the MOD and the beams back to their place).

Another problem was that the screws quality (for the MOD) is rather cheap so be careful not to overtighten - one of them simply broke and probably this cheap quality is the reason they supply you with extra screws and nuts.

Other than the above 2 problems it is very good and light and I like a lot the fact you can hide the cables underneath more easily than other pedalboards (you can wrap them around the two beams or insert the cables inside them) and keep everything tidy and out of sight.

Nice product but a bit weighty
gio10 02.04.2019
The pedalboard is really well done and robust. Just a bit weighty. I should have consider a flight case instead of the soft bag that partially protect the pedals. Accessory are a bit expensive (ex patchbay). Overall I?? quite happy with it.

+ MODs keep cables tidy

- Installation of a MOD leaves little room for a power brick in the middle bay. There should be extra mounting holes for The Tray in the outer bays.

Works well for a TC Helicon Voicelive 3, Line6 HX stomp and a Morningstar MC8. I could even add my Singular Sound BeatBuddy to it.
