I bought a brand new 4003 a few months ago. During the first day I was really impressed with the strings that came on it. Within a day or two though they began to wear... fast. By the end of the first week they were a few days past dead in my opinion.
And so just like most other people, I wasn't sure where to go next on this particular bass, so I bought a few sets of these strings. Same $**t different pack. Seriously disappointing for lots of reasons - the bass is SO killer and they lock you into using these strings, other "normal" pack strings do not fit in the nut. Need to modify it (BTW good luck finding THAT nut slot file!) and well if you find an issue with your truss rod a few months down the line good luck with that warranty.
An Thomann... what does available "on request" mean? YIKES. The only strings that fit a bass guitar that you sell is only available now on request? Sad. You should at least stock them as a courtesy to your customers that play these basses!

I bought these strings for my rickenbacker 4003 because I wasn't sure what to buy at time, have had them on for about six months now and they still sound great, was a good buy and will definitely buy again

Dead, flat and lifeless
Discohenge 25.11.2019
No my friends. I'm not describing my sex life on the title.
I'm describing Rickenbacker bass strings.
Rickenbacker make a great bass.
Rickenbacker make an awful string.
I think maybe in the Ricki factory, somebody had to get their sister's son a summer job.
This kid was hoping to spend his summer cruising with his Bois, checking out girls and smoking cigarettes.
Instead, he's stuck in a factory winding strings. He feels dead and completely drained on the inside and the strings have absorbed this residual lifelessness.
You can't hear the unwanted imposed summer labour on what you play as you will just be lost in the mix.

Great strings..
Too bad Rickenbacker forces you to use them by having non-standard gauge on the nut.
