Having used Ambassadors on octobans and small diameter toms for some years.... the attack and response i like to hear from single ply heads on such high pitched drums always seemed logical and satisfying....However...When ordering new heads for the toms on my Japanese Yamaha Oak custom [pre - Chinese 'live' series] I wanted to keep the attack and definition but lose some of the occasional pre EQ 'boing' i would get on the 13 and 14 from the current Evans G2's...I opted for the Remo Emperors in my configuration..8,10,12,13,14,16,18 and thought i would try the same for my 6" Tama concert tom for a uniformed sound across the kit. The drum itself is birch and 30 years old...I use it as part of my live/studio rig for a sonic dynamic across the range from an ear splitting 6", down to the ground shaking 18"... The Tama has developed a warmer punch retaining its definition and attack and requiring very little on the desk to get its voice across clearly...Perfect!
Thomman supplied at a better price than anywhere in the UK and as with every other item I've purchased from them was in stock.

Prima!
