Nice headphones
Jackie Wu 17.10.2022
When I bought them, it took me nearly two months to get them because of the shortage of supplies.

The voice is very amazing, a little dark, and you won't be tired after listening for a long time. I have NDH20 and NDH30 at the same time. Their bass is almost as good in their respective fields (open/closed). NDH20 puts more emphasis on sound insulation and has a depression at the intermediate frequency to prevent ear canal resonance. The NDH30 sounds more like the HD650, but has more accurate bass lines and more details.

I also have KH310 speakers and switch them back and forth on RME ADI-2 pro. It can be considered that Neumann's two earphones are very successful, and they are quite close to the sound of KH310 from a specific point of view.

Compared with NDH20, NDH30 has improved weight - it is lighter, and the neck is less prone to fatigue when wearing. And the wire is softer, and it is less likely to have unnecessary winding. However, it also inherits a disadvantage of NDH20. When the wire is rubbed, noise can be heard in the earphone.

More than I expected
Rapha Roque 16.09.2024
It's amazing. Sound is clear, so clear that I can hear the "distortion" of the pop songs being squashed/clipped (lol), so I can hear when the sound is pure/clean or not. I have a iD14 MKII to amp the headphone and it sounds great. THE ONLY problem for my taste is that I wish it had more sub by default, however, I can solve it with an EQ in the output of my system, then it sounds amazing, even better than my audio monitors (Kali LP6). The sub is present, even without my "EQ Correction", and it really shows when you are missing lows, mids or highs. Treble/high-mids is in a great spot for me, it's not harsh (AT ALL) and it sounds natural (not neutral). Talking about "neutral", it is a neutral headphone (without my EQ), but I prefer to hear with a ton of sub =)

About the soundstage, nothing to complain. I can hear all the instruments with great separation and depth. I wish I had a quieter computer so I could benefit better from the open-back feature without hearing any fans whispering in the background.

Oh yes, the comfort. It is a little bit heavy in my head, probably because I have a pointy head, so the impact is bigger in the higher point of contact. But I've heard others complain about it, so it could be a little lighter.

Probably because of the high amount of space in the ear pads (which makes it very confortable, not touching/hurting anywhere with my ears), sometimes I have to push the headphone a little bit back to make the sound more accurate. Otherwise, when it is a little bit to the front, it can sound a tad muffled (which sounds more bassy, but you loose some details of the transients). Sometimes I game with this headphone and after a little time, I get used to it and it doesn't hurt in my head anymore.

I can't say anything about the build quality, just amazing and solid. What I can say is about the bag that comes to use as a "transportation case": really simple. I wish I had a better case, probably a hard case to transport it wherever I want. The best solution here is to use the original box if you don't want to risk during transportation.

The cable makes some sound inside the drives when you rub the cable next to the headphone.

I think that's it. This headphone is all about the sound. Super clean, will make you work to get the sound right and highlights what needs to be improved.

nichim 21.02.2023
they sound amazing! very linear, good low end, very honest in the mids.
unfortunately they are very heavy, and not very comfortable to wear. thats why i ended up sending them back, as i got crazy headache from wearing them :(
if neumann puts out a lighter or more comfy version, i would buy again immediately

Perfect sound but painful to wear
Bovey 26.12.2023
This is the most studio like sounded headphones I have ever heard, everything sounds so clear and precise without fatigue.

Unfortunately the comfort is just not there. Besides the ear pads could be bigger and deeper so my ears would not touch the headphones inside, the most painful part is the thin headband. Even though the headband is cushioned with plush foam, it’s simply too thin and narrow, which means the weight of the headphones is focused on a small area of your head. I started feeling pain on my head after using for half hour, and I observed that my scalp where touches the headband turned reddish. Neumann should have designed a much wider and flatter headband cushion for more even weight distribution.
