This is a natural cleaner which also goes easy on the violin varnish since it does not have turpentine in it. On the downside, I found that it is only good for light cleaning. I had some rosin on my violin, and this cleaner was not able to get it off, so I had to resort to a traditional cleaner to do the job right. Also, the plastic bottle, which can leech toxic chemicals into the cleaner, undermines the idea of having a natural non-toxic product. I would have preferred a glass or metal container and at this price that is not too much to ask.
In sum, it is good for gentle light cleaning of violins, but for rosin on your violin you will probably need a more traditional cleaner.
