Great book. It?squite conceptual so be prepared to get your drumming brain thinking. It?s a book you?ll keep revisiting as long as you?re drumming.

Kompetenz:
Gary Chester ist einer der größten Studio Schlagzeuger seiner Zeit gewesen und ist sicherlich Experte darin, in verschiedensten musikalischen Situationen im Studio zu reagieren und für jeden Song den perfekten Groove anzubieten.

Lernfaktor:
Man wird Schritt für Schritt an immer komplizierter werdende Ostinato-Pattern herangeführt, zu denen man dann mit der jeweils übrigbleibenden Gliedmaße Lesetexte zu spielen hat. Dazu soll jede einzelne Stimme nacheinander mitgesungen werden! Dies führt neben dem Erlernen der Koordination der vier Gliedmaßen zu einer wichtigen Bewußtmachung der Notenlängen.

Gesamt:
Dieses Buch ist meiner Meinung nach eines der wenigen, das wirklich Pflichtlektüre für jeden Schlagzeuger sein sollte!
