The Mooer GE150 combines a modelling amp, an effects processor, a looper, and various speaker cabinet simulations based on impulse responses (IR) in a single floorboard unit with an extremely compact design. Right in tune with the motto "You never know when inspiration will strike", this small and lightweight mobile multi-effects processor will give guitarists a range of creative tools wherever they go thanks to its wide sonic palette, integrated USB port (which allows it to be used as an audio interface for a computer or mobile phone), and useful AUX input and headphone output connections for spontaneous practice and jamming sessions on the go. All in all, the feature-packed Mooer GE150 offers an excellent price-performance ratio compared to similar products on the market.
The GE150 allows an effects chain to be intelligently configured and stored using nine integrated effect blocks with a total of 151 different effects including 55 high-quality amp models. Users are also provided with 26 IR-based cab sims and ten additional slots for uploading their favourite IRs as well as with a built-in looper and tuner. The two footswitches serve as bank-up and bank-down buttons for selecting presets, while the integrated expression pedal ensures quick and easy access to numerous parameters and control options. The GE150 comes with an intuitive colour display for easy programming, Mooer's proprietary editor software, which can be downloaded and installed on a computer free of charge, two jack outputs for operation in mono or stereo mode, and a USB port that allows it to be connected to a computer and used as an audio interface. But it doesn't stop there: Thanks to its micro USB-B OTG (on-the-go USB) port, it can even be used for recordings on the go via a mobile phone.
The GE150 is the ideal solution for guitarists who are looking for a compact and affordable all-in-one multi-effects processor that includes numerous amp models, a wide variety of effects, a particularly user-friendly design, and an integrated audio interface for practising at home and on the road, or recording sudden flashes of inspiration on the fly. While the GE150 will convince professional users as a budget-friendly, portable tool for practising, jamming, and recording on the go, it can also open up a whole new world of creativity to ambitious beginners thanks to its wide sonic palette and comparatively low price tag. And guitarists who still have not found their own individual sound or genre will particularly benefit from the wide range of amps and effects offered by the GE150.
Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.
The Mooer GE150 is a universal tool that can be used for a large variety of applications: Its wide sonic palette and integrated audio interface are ideal for composing and songwriting at home, while the particularly useful DI signal recording option allows a pure electric guitar signal and the overall sound output to be simultaneously recorded for re-amping later on. What is more, the GE150 can also be used for recordings on the go, e.g. by connecting it to a mobile phone via the integrated micro USB-B port. Further useful features such as an AUX input for playbacks, an onboard drum machine with a metronome, and a looper make this multi-effects processor the perfect companion for practising and jamming on the go. And it even comes with a dedicated headphone output for undisturbed and quiet practice sessions. In addition to delivering an entire signal chain, the versatile GE150 can also serve as a standalone multi-effects processor – or even as a mobile backup floorboard modeller if a rig on stage causes problems.
