J
Nice bass
Jimmy62 15.09.2020
I've never played a P/J before, only a J and a P separately and while, the lack of the Neck J pickup is lacking to my taste, the P pickup is quite a big deal in this bass, it outshines the J pickup, the blend is fantastic.
What I don't like is the battery chamber which feels rather cheap, be careful opening and screwing it back because the wood is of lesser quality.
Despite all that this is a great bass for beginners as it offers a lot of features that and versatility with the P & J pickups.
You definitely need to set it up because out of the box is barely usable and fret buzz is all over the place.

Why pay more. I cannot believe how good this bass is for the price. You could pay £1,000 for a bass and it might easily be NOT as good. It needs a proper setup and possibly some fret dressing in order to suit my requirements. Unfortunately I cannot get to a luthier in the current state of lockdown. BUT I cannot stop playing this thing and sadly my trusty ESP LTD my have to be relegated. I won't cover the specs as it is well described on this site. There are also some good reviews on YouTube. If you can't find the tone you are looking for with this guitar, then you are probably searching for something that doesn't exist. If you are thinking about one of these - my advice would be stop thinking, just buy one. Don't forget 30 day returns policy and 3 year warranty.

Excellent Bass

2nd generation is definitely an improvement in sound and the feel of the neck for almost the same value. The B-string sounds solid. Setup is solid out of the box.

Cons: The knobs feel very flimsy since they are plastic.
