This clamp lets you mount a camera or camera accessory (smartphone holder, field recorder) on the side of a stand. This makes it easy to build a single recording system you can plunk down and use with very little setup time.

The knurling on both threaded parts lets you tighten each part without extra tools.

If your stand is a bit too thick, you can put the Manfrotto part in a vice and bend it around or file the bracket end until everything fits. If you don't want the screw to stick out so far, you can saw and sand the tip to the desire length. For a normal accessory stand (e.g. not a speaker or overhead stand) this clamp should fit without any modifications.
