Great Rock Pickups
RoaringScot 26.09.2022
I've owned several sets of Lace Sensors over the years and recently got a cream set for my American Elite Fender Strat, as I've never really been keen on the Fender Noiseless Gen 4 pickups that come stock with the guitar. These Lace pickups are fairly high-output, and the bridge pickup in particular has more of a mid-focused humbucker vibe. This means that Strat switch positions 2 & 4 don't have quite the 'quackiness' of normal single coils, but I did get these to beef up that particular Elite, and I have a couple of more traditional Strats for a more traditional tone when required. A positive side-effect of the way these pickups are constructed is that they're pretty quiet, even with bags of sustain. Excellent pickups if you need more of a beefy rock tone out of your Strat without fitting full-fat humbuckers.

No surprises on high expectations.

These pickups do what they're supposed to do. They're quite, the silver sounds like a faster strat pickup, the blue sounds like a vintage Humbuckey and the red is fat and aggressive. That said, I personally wanted another Silver in my guitar and the blue in the bridge position, but that is not the problem with the product, just my personal preference. No stars lost there. My partscaster in which they are installed sounds like a total pro level instrument with these.

If you want what it says they do, but them.

Glad they're seeing a bit of a revival lately.

Sonner comme Clapton
mroc 28.05.2020

Boris539 12.05.2020
Hier also meine klangliche Einschätzung:

Crunch: So la la! Funk eher nicht, Blues eher schon

Overdrive: Super! Für Rock und Blues wirklich gut!

Distortion: Auch gut.
