I procrastinated about buying this bench for weeks. I wish I'd bought it sooner.
Before this I was using one of the Thomann wooden benches, that came packaged with my first keyboard. It was okay but used to creak and groan every time I moved on it, like a 19 century wooden clipper sailing upwind in a storm. Okay, I've put on a bit of weight recently as I'm no longer running marathons, but I'm still not that heavy. This used to annoy me as my microphone used to pick it up.
This bench arrived in about a week (to Ireland) and took about 5 minutes or so to assemble. Whilst you're putting it together you can spend some time appreciating how well built and sturdy it really is.
BTW It's easy to build, way easier to build than say a Swedish bookcase. Yes, I'm looking at you Billy.
The padding on the seat is about 40 mm or so, but very firm so that you don't feel that you're sitting on plywood. It's way firmer than an average office chair.
Easy to adjust. I don't need to change it as I'm the only one who ever uses it, but it'd only take a few seconds if you needed to change it frequently. I was looking at the pneumatic benches, but was put off by the lifespan of office furniture. I expect that this bench will outlive me.
Downsides. These are both minor, but if anything it's a little too firm and the underside of the pads (the bits that contact the floor), seem a bit unfinished. It looks like there's a disc that's mean to screw on to protect the floor. However it doesn't scratch the floor as the pads themselves are quite soft, so it's only a very minor aesthetic about a part that you never see.
Recomended.
