I found this resonator guitar pickup easy to install. Instructions are clear. It does require drilling into the side of the guitar which should best be done by using a series of graduated drill bits to lead up to the rather large bit required: and of course you will need to have the drill and bits organised before you start. That being said the entire exercise took about half an hour. I am really impressed by the output: lots of signal and very true to the sound of the guitar. Couldn't be happier.

Fazit: Preis/Leistung ok. Würde ich wieder kaufen

I installed the part in a "Johnson" resonator guitar (wooden body). Even if this guitar is not one of the highlights of the Resonator guitars, buying the PU was worth it. The installation is extremely easy and does not require a lot of technical skill. The material quality is ok according to the price. I play the guitar through a "Fender Acoustic Junior", which has a sufficiently good tone control and so I'm happy with the sound. I have to say that I only play open tuning and bottle neck. The input sensitivity is relatively high, so that if you sit too close to the amp you can get feedback at high room volumes. Conclusion: price/performance ok. I would buy again

A priori obvious to install but the brass fixing, which must be ground in the center of the cone of the Hound Dog, gave me a little trouble.. The instructions (in English) are a little thin because even if the manipulation remains affordable , focusing is tedious. In the end a more 'Dobro' result than another piezo sensor that I had used before but with greater sensitivity to feedback.

Bel suono nonostante il feedbackNice sound despite the feedback

Real-sounding pickup, quick to assemble (which I did myself in half an hour, including the hole for the jack) and easily accessible. The only flaw is the strong tendency to feedback at high volumes, despite the massive use of non-stick materials between the piezo and the resonator (silicone oil and Vaseline). The starting sound is very good but must be heavily scaled down with equalization to avoid feedback. Pros: Low cost and realistic sound Cons: tendency towards feedback. Recommended for playing at moderate volumes, problematic if playing with percussion or drums.
