Joyo Power Converted POG2
abcalypso 30.12.2019
Having just spent an hour using this product intensively; This product works 100%. PLEASE READ BELOW FOR YOUR SAFETY BEFORE ATTEMPTING SIMILAR TEST ON YOUR EQUIPMENT.
1. I plugged into: Electro Harmonix POG2 (Poly Octave Generator requiring centre-neg -9V- sucking up 1.8ma ...according to adapter specs.)
2. Centre Negative = Yes (out of the box correct...check your effect box before use...just in case you have a positive centre-pole!)
3. 1 hour use: slightly warm after 1 hour non-stop playing.
4. Powered by an (old) thinline phone battery pack (Specs: DC 5V/1A-Output DC5V/1A...4000mAh/14.8Wh)
5. Used one charge-light (out of 5)...no glitches/switch-off's etc
6. POG2 pedal running through a Roland Mobile amp running on its own battery power.
Please note: Knowing your equipment is 9V is not enough info if you wish to have success and safe use! Make sure you check the amount it requires (e.g. 1ma-2ma-or much more?). JOYO claim you can go up to 400ma...though I would suggest staying below that mark especially if you have an expensive pedal/effects box.
Like? YES...IT WORKS AND IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED TO GO MOBILE.
Cons: None so far...time will tell if it remains reliable and doesn't break the pedal electronics at a later stage.

An excellent little devil, can be considered a gig-saver.
Lighthouse J. 01.11.2019
I bought, received and tested this very useful little device:

I connected it's input to a recently bought SilverCrest 10.000 mA powerbank, which was fully charged.
The output was connected to my Zoom G3Xn multi-effect-processor, that is normally powered by a 9V DC - 500 mA wall-charger (which means it will consume about 400 mA, the maximum that the 'Joyo' can deliver).

- The Zoom G3Xn became immediately active and was continuously used during 7 hours and 45 minutes, after which the SilverCrest powerbank was empty.

- Power dissipation was transformed into a hardly noticeable rise of temperature near the output section of the 'Joyo'-device, which is remarkable, since it had to deliver it's maximum all the time it was used.

- There was no measureable (noise) influence on the audio-signal: It was absolutely clean.

Conclusion: This is an excellent little devil, very useful on stage, and can be considered a gig-saver there!

Great bit of kit
Hamfish 24.04.2024
When I read about these, I thought they might be just what I was after. I had bought some 6AA battery holders with a 9v battery clip on them so I could use a 9v clip to 5.5mm barrel adaptor. When I put NiMH rechargeable batteries in it I only got about 7.6v. Plugging the battery pack into one of these converters brought it up to the full 9v. So I bought another 7. Also they filter out a lot of line noise. Would definitely recommend.
