Ich besitze die Steel GR jetzt seit ein paar Monaten und werde
sie auf jeden Fall behalten. Das Design und der Klang sind nicht
alltäglich.
Mein spielerischen Qualitäten sind nicht die besten. Deswegen bin ich
auf ein Instrument angewiesen, das sofort und ohne große Einstellerei
seinen Dienst verrichtet. Das hat in diesem Fall sofort geklappt. Auspacken, stimmen, spielen. Keine Zicken auf der G-Saite, Bundtreue und lange stimmstabil.
Die Saiten ab Werk sind nach meinem Geschmack etwas zu dick, aber
es geht noch. Der Klangcharakter ist insgesamt sehr höhenbetont.
Klang: für die Freunde kristallklarer Akustikgitarren eine Freude.
Notfalls geht sogar angezerrt über Verstärker.
Für rein akustischen Betrieb reicht der Hollowbody nicht aus.
Die Kombination von Piezo-Pickup und klassischem magnetischem
Pickup verschafft interessante Einstellmöglichkeiten.
Rockgitarre mag man mit diesem Instrument wahrscheinlich nicht spielen.
Die Hybrid Steel ist eine schöne Ergänzung für Musiker, die noch
etwas mehr Glanz und "Shimmer" in ihrem Spiel haben möchte, als eine normale Westerngitarre liefern kann. Mich hat in allererster Linie die
Tatsache begeistert, dass die Gitarre aus der Verpackung heraus
bespielbar war. Aufgrund der exotischen Materialien ist der Preis
wahrscheinlich angemessen. Die Einsatzmöglichkeiten sind beschränkt.
Aber was sie kann, kann sie gut.
