Best for the price

These are definitely the best strings for a rock n roll / rockabilly bass.

I'm using them on the 3/4 double bass I play in a rockabilly / rock n roll / psychobilly band I'm in.

They have a nice sound that works good with slapping (that's why they advertise them like that) and somehow seems a little easier and softer than I was expecting.

As far as the sound goes, they're good (specially having the price in mind) and as expected on a double bass, the sound is write warm, although, when slapped, they have the highs and mid highs that cone with slapping (which is good!).

They also come in a very nice box.

I personally like them quite a lot, and totally recommend it, if you are not onto spending a lot of money on a set of bass strings.

Great bang for a buck ratio.

As advertised - these are meant to be slapped, and slapped full time. As you might expect, low E string will have pretty dark sound. They work well with low action, sound classy when amplified, good feel on your fingers, and nice for beginner.

These strings sound nice, with a full rounded sound. Not dull or over bright when slapped, when plucked they have a nice mid range like guts on the D and G strings and a bit of thump on the A and E strings. They do get a bit warm on the fingers when you slide. But what let them down for me was the tension,The D and G where super low,Lower then any string i have ever used before, even Weedwackers. But still sound very good,The tension on the E and A are medium to high, they are worlds apart ,Not balanced at all.Which is a shame because i like the over all sound of the set.So a great set of strings but a bad set tension wise.

Not bad for the price

Hard to get a good sound from the E string but otherwise OK for slap and pizzicato. I would leave a steel E (or A in place of E) with these.
