I used this cable to rewire a guitar (strat) that was having its pots and switch gear replaced. I thought it would be fun to use some old school style cable.
Well, it is exactly what it claims to be, and if you like that retro look, you won't be disappointed. (My subjective opinion) It does indeed look very cool.
Beyond the looks:
+ The cable holds its shape if you bend it, which makes it very easy to get very neat cabling. (Its also multi-core).
- I found the cable extremely hard to strip, either with decent cable strippers.
- If you are wiring a guitar, probably no one other than you will ever see the cable anyway.
- It's relatively expensive compared to other kinds of cables, but I doubt the price of a couple of meters will offend anyone.
So, if you're fixing up a single guitar, you like the retro style, and you appreciate an job well done even if you can't see it, then I can certainly recommend this product.
P.S. It only differs from other cables by the material used for the insulating sheath - it's not going to bestow any magical vintage mojo on your tone.
