Cool little instrument
Anonymous 15.12.2015
We use this instrument in a purely acoustic ensemble that consists of several guitars, a trombone and a saxophone, djembe, cajon, castanets and somtetimes other miscellaneous instruments like accordion etc., and this little percussion is loud enough to hold its own and cut through the mix because it occupies a relatively high frequency range. There is a wide array of sounds you can get from it depending on how much you cup your hand, and you can also use it as you would the maracas.

Regarding build quality, it looks sturdy enough and aesthetically appealing with wood rings on top and bottom, but be careful as the handle tends to unscrew itself if you hold it too tight while rotating the beads.

All in all, it is a pretty cool little instrument that can double as a hi-hat in an acoustic band or ensemble and has a pleasant bossanova-ish sound.

Very nice Cabasa
_obra_ 21.04.2021
These ''small'' Cabasa is much bigger then I expected.

It is not possible to imagine their actual size without the picture of them in someone's hands.

Anyway, sound is nice, they are comfortable, and look beautiful.

ok instrument, poor handling
snurf 28.01.2022
Cabasa sounds very nice, but it's rubber holder has a very cheap threading and starts to get loose fro screw easily. Underneath there is a wood so I removed rubber grip completely.

Great little instrument
Vulinjo 24.10.2020
Tried it in my home studio and after short usage I am already able to play some simple rhythms. Build quality of the product is very good and regardless its smaller dimensions the sound is great. I will use it for sure in my future projects.
