Rubbish

The product is designed wrong. In the bottom there is a metal thread that is glued into plastic. When you tighten the item onto your stand the thread is not deep enough and causes the metal insert to become loose. My monitor smashed on the floor and broke. This is a terrible item don't buy it.

Poor Quality

The metal push fit section of the adaptor is not secure - first time I mounted the monitor, the plastic section separated from the screw thread and the monitor fell off. I bought 2 of these - both the same. It's quite soft plastic so it will only get worse. Putting the two parts back together just weakens the connection and shreds the plastic inner grooves meaning each refit is loose than the previous one. This product is not fit for purpose. The Mackie version is a higher quality and solid as a rock. Unfortunately they're hard to get hold of. Behringer used to include this adaptor WITH the monitor but now you have to source from a third party seller. Not good.

Dreadful - but can be improved !
Tony Roberts 10.05.2023
I'm a fan of Thomann, but the design and construction of this piece is frankly ridiculous ! As others have pointed out, the 5/8 female threaded ring is just lightly pressed into the plastic part, so it pulls out easily - potentially causing your beloved personal monitor to crash to the floor. There's also nowhere near enough thread.

However, alternatives are hard to come by, so for a bit of effort it can be improved. I used a 5/8-F to 1/4-M adaptor and extended this with a piece of 6mm brass tubing, reamed out to 1/4-20 and screwed tightly to the adaptor (with thread-lock). I then pressed this piece into the plastic part, packing this first with epoxy so it won't pull out.

Ridiculous to have to do this, but I think it will hold !

A hint for a fix
MSUB 14.12.2024
As probably anyone else, I also broke the thing on first use, fortunately without damage to the box, which was expected to be held by this adapter.
I have got a replacement, which broke down as well instantly.
Then I tried to glue the metallic ring in, following advice found here in reviews. Did not last long anyway, and I had the metallic ring with a thread separated from the plastic again.
At the end, I drilled three 3.5mm diameter holes through the plastic approx. 4.5 mm out of the edge, placed evenly across the circumference by 120 degrees, and used three 6mm long M4 setting screws with sharp tip to screw through these holes towards deepening in the middle of a metallic ring. Screws shall be fastened just enough to hold the ring, and to avoid its deformation, which would result in damage to a circular shape and inability to screw it on the stand.
So far it holds well. In case of doubt, I would just drill three more holes shifted by 60 degrees and three more setting screws to assure even better hold.
