Great sound clarity
Sovas 03.06.2020
Installed them into my Gibson SG Standard and was surprised by such a strong improvement in sound. So tight, transparent and agressive in bridge voice 1, and more fat and thicker sound in voice 2. Same in the neck, voice 2 neck very smooth. Single coil mode sounds quieter, but almost like real single coils. I have never experienced such variability with my Gibson SG. Also improved in clean channel sound, much brighter than gibson pickups (490r, 500t).
Nice build quality, and full kit of accesoires you need.
Strongly recommended!
P.S. If you're interested, the battery fits in the Gibson SG cavity with no issues, no need to additional milling.

Very versatile but for me, a bit lacking
Mo.Singh 16.05.2023
Coming from a set of Dimarzio air norton/air zone, I was interested to see how these sounded. I mostly play clean, so I may not be the target audience, however I have only heard good things about these.

The pickups, potentiometer, switch and other components are all of a high quality and wiring them up was super simple - I opted for a 5 way blade with pushpull for voice 2 (coil split occuring in the 5 way). My first issue was the pickups were piercingly, overpoweringly bright, so I soldered the HF tilt contact points. This darkened the humbucker sounds, but the split coil was just a bit too trebly still. The tone control wasn't really that useful as supplied.

In conclusion, I think I may have been troubled with option paralysis, there is so much you can do with these pickups, but maybe for me, the sounds it does best, are just sounds I'm not into. I struggled to get any sounds I was truly happy with, I found the top end to be really grating and I felt overall maybe these pickups were a jack of all trades and unfortunately, a master of none.

W
The ideal PAF tone and more?
Wrenchman 06.02.2024
Never thought I'd write this, being a long time PAF tone chaser, from vintage to modern takes, passives mostly, I tried almost everything that boutique and mass produce companies are offering in that PAF field.
I recently started using the Fluence Modern in some of my guitars but gave a shot to the Classic set. The woody, snarling, bitey mid is what I missed and the Classics deliver tons of it!
Regarding the 3 voices, Voice 1 is my go to, voice 2 is a bit too similar to 1 imho and voice 3 is surprisingly strong, almost entering the p90 territory but still very glassy stratty.
I have a set on a Viper and an Eclipse and they found the breath and grit they lacked before! (previously set with SD Seth Lover set!)
It's not the cheapest set of HB you can find, it's overly hyped, but not overrated. Also, wiring these Fishman pickups makes you better at soldering.
Treat yourself with a set!

AO
Great pickups, too bad they don't come with solderless like emg's does
Azad Onur Kekilli 24.09.2021
the sound from these are great but the soldering is not so great like cmon its 2021... but at least i learned another skill (soldering) on the way...

only down side was i was a little fast cutting my strings and dissasmbling the guitar, i forget to check if these are solderless or not so i had to attach a 5 string pack (one was broken a long time ago) to keep the neck tension in place while i buy the soldering iron and solder and stuff... but it was all my fault so no harm done by fishman...
