When looking to purchase a new amp I tried everything I could find, and found myself drifting more and more towards Fender, and two stood out for me, the Princeton Reverb, and the 59 Bassman.
The Bassman blue me away with it's super clear tones; smooth on the normal channel, sharp on the bright. Perfect for blues, rock, country, folk, and jazz, particularly if you have the right pedals (essential really, because getting the Bassman to distort is almost impossible unless you have it turned up to 12 with a Les Paul). I have to say also that presence functions should mandatory on all guitar amps, as the subtle improvements of a good presence control cannot be overstated.
I would recommend this for anyone is looking for a high-end valve amp with plenty of power and beautiful tone. And needless to say the tweed casing is a thing of beauty.
