EV50M is a super high quality product, works very well and reliably. For about a month of use, I've never had such a single failure on anything with this system (unlike e.g. JBL). Also the mobile app is very reliable and well working. Kudos EV for the high quality product.
The sound is too sharp, clean, and unfortunately, too harsh and "sterile" for me. There's also a lack of a certain mid-freq spectrum, which I miss. I want a speaker with warmer and smoother sound, and this EV is just not right for me. It's very loud and powerful, but I often reach out to lower the volume because the highs are super "sharp" and that takes part of the joy of listening away. The sharpness gives great clarity of the sound, and it's very powerful, but to enjoy, I prefer warmth & smoothness and this speaker doesn't have it. Before the EV50m, I've had a JBL EON ONE MK2, and honestly I've had a more joyful sound experience with - it's not as accurate and loud as the EV50, but it was more pleasant to listen to. I certainly don't reach out to lower the volume on the JBL MK2, while on the EV50, I often wish to lower it down, just because this sharpness & harshness makes it difficult for me to listen continuously. The bass of the EV50M sounds very good.
I've had it for about a month, and I'm sending it back. It just doesn't sound good to me. If you want smooth and warm sound for parties, events and also casual & joyful listening it's not the right speaker in my opinion. If you need a powerful, high quality speaker system with a PA sound signature, the EV 50M does a great job. It's loud, clear, it's software & app work great and reliably and will likely serve you well for years.
