Daily driver

I use these strings to play low tuned metal with my ST-style guitar. They are most comfortable with a C# standard tuning, but can easily do C standard, Drop C and Drop B. They sound awesome! However, this set is in desperate need of a 22w 3rd string. Also, the sound starts getting dull after a month or so, but this is probably normal for non-coated strings.
All in all, it's a great set for a reasonable price and my personal daily driver for low tunings. Just make sure you replace the 22p string with a wound one!

C
My go-to strings for Drop C tuning
Cheeseman 03.10.2017
There is something about the sound of Slinkies that is just very signature about these string sets and that is what I love about them! They sound immense, are easy to put on and hardly ever broke on me if it weren't for my own stupidity. Only real downside is that they go bad after like a month, so if you're not a touring musician or a studio producer that changes strings every week or every day these aren't the strings you should be looking after. However, if you are planning on changing your strings regularly, these are a good industry standard to stick by!

TS
Perfect for me!
Tom S 08.04.2018
These strings are perfect for me. They sound a bit dark but no too dark and they down tune very easily. I always liked the stoner rock tone so I wanted to try thicker strings and these fit the bill perfectly!

G
Decent strings, don't last as long as others
Guus 30.07.2017
These strings were my go to for years, simply out of habit. I prefer thicker strings for the added power it gives to the E-B-G strings.

The sound is nice and strong, a bit mid-focused and the treble is rolled off. I do prefer D'Addario's now, as they have the same mid-focus, but have more clarity and more present yet smooth treble.

Decent strings but I wouldn't say 'the best.'

They are quality strings and a lot better than some other options. But these wouldn't be my personal favourite.

very low price and good sound, but these get old really fast if you play every day

Great standard heavy strings
Anonymous 08.12.2015
These strings are just as the package describes; beefy. The one problem I have with them is the unwound G string. I'm sure there is an equivalent set with a wound G, and I would tend towards that instead.

T
Strings for rock n roll!
TuukkaS 12.01.2014
I have used the Ernie Ball beefy slinkys for many years and they are great for a balanced tension in D tuning. The strings sound good but have some quality issues on the lighter strings. The high e-string unwinds from the ball end on some sets.

Good strings
peripherylover 05.11.2019
I use them for drop c and they work beatifully for that
they rust a bit quickly maybe im just sweaty
tone is very bright and clear in the beginning until they start to wear out
so overal pretty good strings would recommend to clean the strings if you want to get the most out of them

BB
Good Strings for Drop Tunings
Benjamin B. 265 20.02.2014
I was searching for strings for a Drop C Tuning on my guitar. I first started with Earnie Ball 2626 but they were too thick. My next tryout were the 2627 Beefy Slinky Strings. These are working much better. The overall sound is punchy in the low ends. But still the G Strings is sounding a little poor. (Not as poor as in the 2626 set, there it was really bad) But you can use it although the string has lack of sustain. But maybe these strings work better on an even lower tuning than Drop C.
