Excellent for a hifi tone.

I bought these having experience EMG actives on other bass guitars and they're excellent. The EMG quick connect feature makes installation a breeze.

Tonally, they do what you would expect - clean, clear and noiseless tones with plenty of output. It's not really a criticism labelled at these pickups particularly, but for me active electronics tend to mask the 'real tone' of the wood a little, and you tend to hear the pickups sound more than the bass. I don't mind that being a fan of the EMG sound, and a bit plus is you can put these on a lower end bass as an upgrade and the difference will be huge!

I bought this PJ set for my old '92 Ibanez TR Bass because the stock pickups didn'have that much output and sounded a bit weak. The installation of the Pickups was very simple because of the quik connect system. There is no need for soldering and it saves you a lot of time!
The quality is always good when you Buy EMG pickups and the PJ set is no exception. These Pickups enhanced the sound of the Bass a lot! It's much more present and has a huge amount of punch... you will notice it during a rehearsal, that you can hear the Bass much better than before! Thumbs up, I will buy this set for all my future basses!

I typically don't like active pickups, because I prefer the natural sound of the instrument without coloration, but as far as bass guitar, these pickups certainly do make a huge difference in sound as far as the punch and the highs that they add.
Definitely recommended!

EMG pickup upgrade

These pickups were bought to upgrade a Farida bass guitar, they were an exact replacement fit for the existing pickups making installation simple. The use of plastic multi pin connectors on the wire connections reduces any soldering to a minimum. The pickups give that classic EMG growl which I really like.
