Good sound, but expensive

Good pickup, this is the first time i bought any expensive pickups, as i normally use Chinese pickups on almost everything. I personally don't hear a big difference, but if you want something reliable and consistent, get this

It's 'super'
Anonymous 10.11.2014
i spent a long time researching pickups to go into one of my Mexican Teles as I wanted something with a bit more bite and aggression so bought one of these. I found it pretty easy to wire with instructions off the dimarzio website. I play all types of music and wanted a pickup that suited the more heavier music (such as bullet for my Valentine, bring me the horizon, the blackout, biddy clyro etc) just to move away from the single coil but not go active and this pickup did the job perfectly. It's the perfect humbucker for a tele, I was pleasantly surprised with its versatility to still be able to play clean and heavy! It's a single sized humbucker!

Super Dimarzio

Purchased this pick up for my telecaster build project, I chose this because it is a humbucking pickup in the form of a single pickup.
By combining it with another single sized humbucker in the neck position, it gives the ability to wire up the pickups through a twin pole 5 way switch.
This gives you far more scope for creating various sounds from the telecaster, but at the same time keeping the look of the guitar as standard as possible.
Build quality is outstanding as is the sound that this little pickup puts out.
I would recommend that you listen to the samples on the Dimarzio website.
Have fun!

Almost like its fat brother
Anonymous 17.01.2017
Its ALMOST the same as a regular Super Distortion Humbucker in full size, but I think it sounds a bit thinner and less bassy.

Anyhow, I love it on my Telecaster custom! I play Melodic Hardcore, grunge, and Emo (the real stuff, not the eyeliner MTv garbage)
I think the sound gets close to an SG with Gibson 498t, but a bit thinner.

Handles distortion like very few other do, and its actually excellent with a slightly overridden tube amp on clean channel

And I can't tell if it has 'Twang' or not as I still don't have a clue of what they mean by that concept, and I frankly don't care since I don't play country and don't want my tele to sound like a banjo.
