Guitar - Ibanez JEM 7DBK
Bridge - Dimarzio Tone Zone F white
Middle - Dimarzio Tone Zone S white
Neck - Dimarzio Air Norton F white
Shadow Kill pot and 500k push/push tone pot
Splits in 2,3,4 on YM50 selector
I bought my JEM 7DBK minus pickguard, pickups and electronics as it was cheaper s/h and the fact I could install what I wanted into it. Normally the JEM 7DBK has Dimarzio Breed pickups however I wanted something with a little more guts in the bridge position, finding out the Air Norton was perfectly partnered with the Tone Zone. The guitar is custom wired from a schematic supplied by Dimarzio, the push/push pot coil taps the pickups when they are in positions 2,3 and 4 on the YM5 selector. The Kill Pot allows for stuttering effects as you tap out rhythmic patters on the volume knob.
The Air Norton is a great neck pickup although they say it works great in the bridge too! I've had one of these installed in a Charvel Pro Mod 2011 San Dimas with a Tone Zone in the bridge and it sounded righteous. The volume knob is paramount to what you can achieve with this pickup, it cleans up great when you back the volume off and coil tapped.. it's juicy with a chorus pedal. The pickup is articulate, you can use it with full on gain and still have definition to your solos without them sounding muddy. It would be interesting to try it with other Dimarzio pickups and see how they pair up, definitely my choice of neck pickup, I have to try one in the bridge!

Dicker Ton für eine Ibanez RG.
Sonny 25.11.2013
Der Tonabnehmer sitzt am Hals einer Ibanez RG mit Linde Korpus und Ahorn Hals/Griffbrett. Der Ton ist sehr dick, klingt fast schon ein wenig nach Paula, bin sehr zufrieden.

Miglior scelta tra i DiMarzio pickup a manico!
Andy KGM 04.09.2021
Dovendo sostituire un bare knuckle a manico , e avendo a ponte un Tone Zone, la scelta era piuttosto guidata su un Air Norton. Suono pieno ma tight al punto giusto, chug assicurato !
