Portable and powerful stage monitor

One of the biggest challenges for musicians on stage is ensuring they can hear themselves and their bandmates clearly. The dBTechnologies Flexsys FM12 addresses this issue with a versatile and compact stage monitor that delivers a transparent, balanced, and powerful sound for live performances, rehearsals, and even studio applications. Its traditional wedge-shaped design features a 12" coaxial woofer that projects sound directly towards the performer, ensuring optimal clarity and focus. Engineered to meet the demands of budget-conscious bands and sound engineers, the Flexsys FM12 also serves as an excellent Full-Range Flat-Response (FRFR) speaker for guitarists using modelling amplifiers, faithfully reproducing their signal chains with precision. Its compact design makes it an ideal choice for small to mid-sized stages and intimate venues, offering professional-quality sound in a portable, streamlined format.

Balanced sound for every performance

A reliable stage monitor is essential for any live setup, allowing performers to hear themselves and communicate effectively on stage. The dBTechnologies Flexsys FM12 provides a powerful yet transparent sound, perfectly suited to vocals, instruments, and backing tracks. With remarkable clarity and dynamic precision, it doubles as a compact full-range system for various applications. Its extended bass response enhances low-end definition, making it an excellent choice for vocalists, keyboardists, and bass players alike. The FM12 features an advanced DSP offering a crossover, digital multiband limiters, phase correction, and eight variable presets, allowing it to adapt seamlessly to the demands of live performances, rehearsals, and audio playback applications. With its robust sound output and balanced tone, the Flexsys FM12 consistently delivers outstanding performance for both individual musicians and full bands.

Tailored for modern guitarists

While the Flexsys FM12 excels in traditional band setups, it is also uniquely suited to the demands of guitarists using modelling amplifiers. Its Full-Range Flat-Response (FRFR) design ensures faithful reproduction of the entire signal chain, including amp and cabinet simulations, delivering highly accurate and consistent tones. This precise response allows guitarists to craft their sounds exactly as intended, with rich dynamics and exceptional clarity, even at higher volumes. The larger 12" driver provides enhanced low-end performance, ensuring tight and punchy response for high-gain applications. Compact yet robust, the Flexsys FM12 provides the definition and responsiveness needed for both rehearsal and live performance, making it a valuable tool for modern guitarists seeking professional-grade monitoring.

About dBTechnologies

Since then, the company has established itself as one of the world's leading suppliers of professional sound systems. Today, dBTechnologies is present in more than 100 countries with its own sales offices or representing distributors. In the mid-2000s dBTechnologies switched to digital amplifier technology on its own initiative and as one of the first manufacturers in the industry, and can look back on more than 10 years of experience in the development of digital power amplifiers and their environments, including power supply and Digital Signal Processing. Their current catalogue includes active and passive loudspeakers, power amplifiers, and electronics as well as wireless systems for a wide range of applications from musicians and DJs to event technology service providers and permanent installations.

Versatility across multiple applications

The dBTechnologies Flexsys FM12 is engineered to adapt seamlessly to a wide variety of applications, from live stages and rehearsal spaces to unconventional performance settings. With 300W RMS power and a 124dB maximum output, it handles high-volume environments with ease. The coaxial design ensures wide sound dispersion, allowing for broad stage coverage and enabling multiple performers to share a single monitor without compromise. Whether amplifying vocals, electronic drum kits, or playback tracks, the Flexsys FM12 consistently delivers a clear and impactful sound. Its intuitive setup and straightforward level adjustments further enhance usability, making it a reliable choice for vocalists, instrumentalists, and sound engineers who demand consistent performance in any scenario.

Much needed monitor upgrade
Anonymous 21.01.2015
These were a much needed upgrade for me, I bought 5 at once, 3 at the bundle price and 2 at the normal price, which is a shame I couldn't take 5 as a bundle or any kind of deal. The covers that come as the bundle are not great but they help to keep them clean.

Volume isn't the be all and end all when it comes to speakers, but these are very loud for such a small box. A little bass heavy but i think this has been eq'ed into them to make them sound fuller. The mid range is phenomenal with a clean crisp top end and not overly processed sound to it.

Vocals cut through everything, Ive used these for one of the most demanding bands I work for and they like them, the lead singer has a pair, and I have tried the pre programmed processing built in to the monitor but still find the setting at 12 o clock that is just marked as monitor sounds and works the best, although if you are running monitors with no eq on the output I would imagine the "anti feedback" processing would be helpful.

I have recommended these to other singers who don't want to use in ears monitors, who have also tried mine and then bought them straight away. I could do with 2 more which I will be buying this year.

Flexsys FM12

Had this monitor for about 2 weeks now, and done 5 gigs with it. Run my Axe FX 2 straight into it and it sounds great. Very full rich sound, and very loud for a 1*12. I had read that this monitor can be a bit on the bass heavy side, and i have found this with some of my presets, but a bit of eq tweaking sorts it out for me. It is also larger and heavier than i was expecting but the whole unit feels very solid, even when standing on it mid solo :)
On the whole very pleased with it.

Great active coaxial monitor speaker
basmeyer 30.09.2016
Relatively pretty light in weight and more compact compared to other products in the same output power range. Very good, natural sound, open sound thanks to the coaxial driver configuration.

Using these monitors for 2 years now all around Europe. Even on bigger stages and with demanding vocalists it produces a perfect output volume.
Like all monitors it needs proper EQ-ing when the maximum performance on vocal mics is required, room specific. However this is a smooth process and once all set it does not go into feedback easily.

12" low driver is perfect for many sources. I am happy that I went for the biggest FM12 model, although the 10" version performs OK in case less output is sufficient.
Do not compare this monitor with a D & B Max series, that would not be fair. Their sound is a step up, but so is their price!
However for the price (which even dropped in 2 years) it probably is the best you can get for an active wedge. Would definitely order more of them.

I like the simplicity of the amp panel, the basic connections and controls is all you need in a professional situation.
Would be even better and more neat on stage to have Powercons in/out on the amp.

F
Great quality, fair price, very much up to the task and probably a lot more
FloRo 05.09.2020
I use two FM12s for my acoustic setup at home (stereo - I don’t use the link) - sound comes via an Avalon U5 through an Alesis mixer to the FM12s. Ideal for practicing with a loop station and building tone - also very clear when used for vocals, etc.
Very easy to use, LOTS of reserve power I don’t use usually, durable and great sound - what else do you want?
Absolutely recommended for similar applications and I am sure it would fare very well as a Monitor System for bigger bands etc.
