The Dadario (former Rico) royale is an old acquaintance of mine but it has been a few years since I last bought/ played the reed. I am impressed with the very first reed in a pack of 10. Took them all out and held them against a light (that's how you find the best in a pack. They have to be equally thin with an unbroken edge) Not one single bad reed in the pack
