g
use it for B
ghiekorg 28.01.2019
I use this string to substitute the 56 string of the 11-56 set to play in Drop B tuning. I can't really say how it sounds compared to other brands, i have been using daddario for the last 10 years.
I don't like the metallic sound of brand new strings and i noticed that it doesnt last more than a couple of days using this strings. And for me it's a good thing

Good string

Replace the low string on a .011-.056 set with this, and you have a perfect set for drop B or drop C tuning

Always handy

Always comes in handy when I have to replace the lowest string on my Drop C Les Paul, as it sees quite a lot of abuse when playing my type of music.

Great for odd tunings
Anonymous 10.08.2014
I use this string for one of my alternately tuned 6 string guitars. I use this for the low B in my guitar tuned to B-B-D#-F#-b-e. The build of D'addario strings is always on top form above all other companies, this string is bright and clear while giving a punchy feeling to the low B of my guitar without becoming too muddy or loose. I am comfortable using this in big, heavy riffs as much as I am using it in smooth, clean lead lines as it provides great clarity on such a low note it doesn't get lost in a full band mix.
