I'm not a violin player.

I bought it as a gift to one friend of mine who plays violin more than 20 years as a pro classic musician. She says it's the best shoulder rest she ever tried.

Holds the weight of the viola completely off the arm

This excellently designed product hooks over the shoulder and takes all the weight of the viola off the arm. I love it!

Delivery time from Thomann is astonishingly fast - I ordered from Thomann who are based in Germany on the Monday and it was with me in the UK by Wednesday lunchtime. Very impressive and highly recommended.

I find these rests much more supportive than other types, and so make the instrument easier to play - especially for violas as they need more support.
