We bought these in a rush to use them in a small recordstore for the customers to listen to records with headphones. There arent many alternative products in this price range so it was an easy choice.
We had also a Turntable Lab phono pre which sounded much better but was also more expensive.
We have only used the RCA ins and headphone out. Never needed the usb feature so wouldn't mind if it wasn't there but the other simpler and cheaper DJ Pre II model doesn't offer a headphones socket.
it's a pity it only has minijack input though, in a shop it's not the most secure solution but still after 2 years it works flawlessly even after the minijack plug was hit and bend many times by drunk customers during some events. The monitor output level knob could be bigger of course. On/off switch would also be great too.
Anyway for the price I would highly recommend it.

Useful for digital IO
ASBM 16.08.2021
I use this interface to provide stereo digital IO between an iPad and another audio interface connected to my computer. As such, I cannot comment on the AD-DA capabilities.

Overall it works very well for the purposes I use it for. The sound is clear and the latency is negligible.

The ability to change the clock source and sample rate from the device would have been useful (as I am using it with an iPad and there is no iPad app for it, I cannot change these during use).

For those who are looking to rack mount it: it is quite easy to remove the rubber feet by unscrewing the front or back panel. Once this is done the unit fits exactly in 1U.

Overall recommended if you are looking for quick and easy stereo digital IO.

Couldn't get it to work with Windows 10
Mistaboom 29.06.2018
Tried contacting ART technical support and had to wait a week for a reply. Then didn't receive any further support from them. I would not buy an ART product again. It may have been a faulty unit or just a setting, I am not a novice.

P
Father's day
PieterS 01.07.2014
I bought this for my dad's father's day. He had an old record player that he didn't ues anymore because the amp for it died years ago. I bought this and to go from record player into this device and then into his headphones or the phono input of his media system. Works really well this way. He was really happy :-) He also liked the idea of being able to digitalise his old records, but hasn't gotten to that yet, so no idea on that function.
