Quality pedal straight out of the box (minus a drum key)
James2242 18.09.2014
I really like this pedal, it's got a really smooth action and is simple to set up to suit your needs. I like it more than my 9000 with it's infinite positions (too complicated for me). I like that you just set up and go without thinking. Comes with a nice lightweight carry case. It's much lighter than the Pearl pedal cases but a little bulkier than the 9000 case which is my favourite for local gigging and transport.

While it's top notch overall it does have some minor flaws for me (1) It doesn't come with a drum key or have a place to hold a drum key - all similar level pedals have this option so quite disappointed with that (2) I don't like the black material on the support posts, it looks cool but wears easily and after awhile looks a little tatty (3) I prefer the design of the old pedal plate, it was iconic and think Yamaha should have stuck with it :(

Wonderfuly balanced pedal with belt drive option!
AntonV 10.02.2015
I Switched to this pedal from my old Iron Cobra doubles bass pedal. And now I am very glad I did that. This Pedal is great for any musical situation you are in. It is, in common words, a natural continuation of your foot. I chose exactly this model because it have adjustable footboard and double sided beater(which is great if you switch between musical genres).

Also very pleased that it comes with firm black carry case, and as I mentioned in the title with belt strip. I prefer using it rather than chain, because it feels even more natural. It would be great if there was a drum key with it for instant tuning.

Overall, the look and quality of the pedal is on the highest level possible. Great Investment if you are looking for a well-balanced single pedal!

I highly recommend this pedal

When I started the drum years ago, I started with the rhythm pedal and I tried others for a long time to find a better pedal. But I've always been back. And now I have decided not to try another pedal. I use the same pedal on three separate sets. I highly recommend it.
